Handcrafted from 925 sterling silver the earrings feature a design based around circles and birthstones. The circles, or halos as we like to call them, have been gently hammered to create a unique textured appearance which not only gives them a wonderful tactile feel, but it also allows them to sparkle and shine when they catch the light. Hanging down from each halo is a gorgeous wire wrapped semi-precious birthstone. You are free to choose any applicable birthstone and all our stones are guaranteed to be of at least A grade quality.

If you're looking for an extra special gift what could be better than a handmade piece of jewellery that was created just for her! No machines, no production line, just a skilled artisan sitting at a jewellery bench creating a fabulous keepsake that will stand the test of time.
As soon as we receive your order one of our trained silversmiths will begin work on your halo birthstone earrings. They will start by measuring out and cutting two equal lengths of 1.5mm sterling silver wire. Working with a series of hand tools they will then bend and shape the wire into circles and use a combination of solder and flux to join each piece together. Using a rawhide mallet they will then hammer the parts onto a mandrel to make sure they are perfectly round and conform to the correct sizing's for this particular product. A bench block and jewellery hammer are then used to create the unique texturing that will make each silver halo totally unique.

The attention now turns to the birthstone briolette that will hang down from each earring. Taking your chosen stone the jeweller will thread a thin silver wire through a purposely drilled hole. Using a pair of pliers and a considerable amount of skill and patience they will tightly wrap the wire around the stone numerous times before creating a loop to finish, this loop will then be joined to the halo created in the previous stage. The final handcrafting process involves a silver ear pin being soldered onto the back of each individual halo.

Your item is now ready for the cleaning and polishing stage. The silversmith will use a combination of different sized files and sandpaper grits to make sure all soldered joins are invisible to the eye and smooth to the touch. A buffing wheel in combination with several polishing compounds are then skilfully applied to give your finished earrings the shiny, mirror-like finish that they truly deserve.

Finally it's off to packaging and dispatch where your item will be given a final polish before being placed in a Pretty Serendipity gift box. As a little added extra we'll also send you a 'thank you' card which includes the name of the jewellery maker who was responsible for the creation of your one of a kind earrings.
